Boyd was elected in January 2022 to serve as Councilmember for District 1. Boyd and his wife, Paige, live on Daniel Island and have three children. They have been residents of District 1 since 2008.
Boyd is a licensed, professional engineer and works with Energy Systems Group, LLC. He has worked with municipal governments and utilities to design and build water resource recovery facilities, including some here in the lowcountry.
His work includes design and construction of co-digestion wastewater facilities, biosolids processing facilities, waste-to-energy, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
Boyd holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering and Applied Fluid Mechanics, also from Clemson University.
